Ca. 1930’s, 2nd quarter 20th cenutry. Large and oversized Persian Kerman akin to historic Vase Carpets of the 16th century Persia. Safavid inspired border with scrolling, interconnected arabesques. Field of large palmettes loosely guided in a lattice orientation by a thin grid of diagonally interlacing vines. An exemplary piece reviving the keen understanding of Persia’s Golden age in Carpet weaving from more than four centuries prior.
